Part of the project ‘In The Corners Of A Circle’ is the installation. This installation functions as the context in which the components can be played with. The aim is to play with the system without knowing the rules, resulting in the discovery of new ways of using it. People were invited to play and to activate the work. These interactions, captured with the physical material of a ‘polaroid’, become part of an ongoing research into form, interaction, and connection.

The work is expressed through the moving body as a structure. Through collaboration with the dancers, the work expands and new forms emerge. These images are stills from videos.

As part of VARIABLES, I invited sixteen individuals to the same location to create a grid that reflects the basis of the project. By utilizing four different colors and four different shapes, it emphasizes the convergence, connectivity, and variety of the individuals.
-
info
Here, the shape is folded into its pattern. When attached to the mirrored second part and worn on the body, the form becomes visible.
-
info
The shapes from the "VARIABLES' project are created using a 15x15cm grid with a diagonal line. The shapes are formed by folding and connecting the squares within. Complementary colors are used within the shapes to reflect their structure. Each shape consists of two parts, which are connected by metal eyelets and cord.

The jester captured in a space that emphasizes the absurdity of their form, reflecting on their role within society.

As part of the project ‘Jokes On The Mirror That Fools You’, I immersed myself in the craft of shoemaking. This image shows the experimental form. The shoe is a reflection of the expressiveness and absurdity of the jester.

In The Corners Of A Circle The Hague , Netherlands kimgemmink.framer.website/works/in-the-corners-of-a-circle 'In The Corners Of A Circle' is a critical reflection towards systems and beliefs. A “fashion” collection without defined looks and a “game” without a winner. It is about finding possibilities within limitations. An exploration of the tension between playing a game and to play. Both related to a context which sets the outlines and draws the 'rules'. This body of work is urging to find new ways of dressing through collective experimentation. This is an invitation to play.

Variables The Hague, Netherlands kimgemmink.framer.website/works/variables VARIABLES is inspired by our world of bureaucracy and its confinements. The created grid functions as a system, allowing the wearer to connect the points within. It demonstrates how many variations can exist within one and the same system.

Under Construction The Hague, Netherlands kimgemmink.framer.website/works/under-construction 'Under Construction' is inspired by social systems. Navigating through roles/rules within society; given to create order. Each look has a frame, with its belonged items, divided by shape and color, exchanging items will transpose the position of the positioned within. A play between order and chaos.

Jokes on the mirror that fools you The Hague, Netherlands kimgemmink.framer.website/works/jokes-on-the-mirror-that-fools-you During the Medieval and Renaissance era, the court jester was there to amuse and entertain. They could relieve pressure during court and were given the privilege of freedom of speech. Implicitly, this meant that they could criticize the status quo without further implications. One could say they were the reflectors of society, but who are the reflectors now?
