Each matter has a form and with form comes ability to experience time through change. Using the process of melting accompanied by drawings, writings and equations from physics, Count to Melt presents ongoing research about attempts to explore different logic of perceiving and experiencing time through temporality and disappearance of matter.

Each matter has a form, allowing it to experience. Using the process of melting as an experience of/in time. The ice is hanging above the candle, standing in a pond. Both candle and ice are melting, changing their original form which remains a memory. Water dripping in the pond is rising its surface while the fire is reducing from the body of the candle. This constant process of changing form is also a process of mourning. The moment the surface of the water will meet with that of the candle, the light from the candle dies. What has been left remains as a memorial.

Salt is associated with purity, preservation, protection but bares a negative aspect of death as well. My dear friend's mother had studio in Voorschoten. Studio in woods, as we called it, was an antikraak, ready to be torn down. We walked around, as there was a lot of nature and interesting places to see. We came across a former graveyard. I did research about this place, officially called Beresteyn, which history goes to year 1833. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any details regarding the graveyard, but my dear friend told me that popes were buried there as Beresteyn has been over years mostly a religious institution for boys. I highlighted the circuit of graveyard with salt as it is associated with purity and act of preserving and protecting but also, it has aspect of death. Although, the bodies were no longer there, I couldn't step on soil because it has a knowledge of bodies that once were buried there and it reminded me how my mum used to tell me, when we were visiting cemeteries, to not to step on graves.

Chair as an object in my room where I sit. I sit when I am tired. When I am tired, I feel guilty. I mark the duration of time on me and the object while counting. By counting the time, I make each second matter. I count time, the time counts me.
