I am active as illustrator / drawer in the Netherlands . As an editorial illustrator I work for a large variety of international newspapers. I am interested in inventing images as solutions. Translating content or emotion in a readable image , not as decoration, but like dressing a text. Besides I design posters or create images for mostly cultural institutions and artists. This depends somewhat along with my past in which I organized a programme for for a stage for experimental music, sound and film , together with Manuel Padding under the name HELBAARD, in the Hague. For these events I often silkscreened posters and flyers I often designed during the process of printing. The character of screen prints and the manual process of screen printing has affected my flat, graphic and bold style very much.
