Ik probeer de grenzen van disciplines op te rekken en maak daarmee weinig onderscheid tussen autonoom werk en projecten in opdracht: verschillende werelden vermengen zich en ik onderzoek daarmee hoe objecten en vormen zouden kunnen functioneren binnen uiteenlopende disciplines, omgevingen of scènes.
De relatie tussen beeld en object, tussen fysiek en digitaal en tussen 2D en 3D vormt de basis voor mijn werk. Vaak werk ik met materialen, gereedschappen en bijbehorende technieken buiten de context van hun oorspronkelijke doel. Door ze in een andere context te plaatsen worden de grenzen van ambachten en disciplines onderzocht en opgerekt.

2022Royal Encounters Escher in the Palace The Hague, Netherlands The work of 10 artists based in The Hague will be on display as part of the Royal Encounters exhibition, a dialogue between tradition and experimentation, between past and present. Escher in The Palace invited the artists to produce new graphic work, drawing inspiration from Lange Voorhout Palace and its principal resident, Queen Mother Emma. The artists were challenged to step outside their comfort zone for this exhibition, as they are ordinarily engaged in a wide array of different disciplines, from major architectural installations to photography. Their innovative approach is yielding a colourful palette of artworks. 2021ExtraPlaats 2 Book Knust/Extrapool, Nijmegen Netherlands www.plaatsmaken.nl/nl/galerie/webshop/extraplaats-magazine Een unieke uitgave op A2-formaat in risoprint en zeefdruk. In een gelimiteerde oplage van slechts 120 stuks. 36 pagina's plus omslag. Voor ExtraPlaats #2 zochten tien kunstenaars, illustratoren en vormgevers de grenzen van de riso- en zeefdruktechniek op. Hun beelden werden eerst gedrukt op de risograph-printer (ook wel bekend als stencilmachine), waarna er via zeefdruk handmatig nieuwe lagen aan werden toegevoegd. Het resultaat: een vibrerend geheel dat het uiterste van de technieken vergt.
