For me, art is an act of resistance in an absurd world.
For me, art is an act of resistance in an absurd world. A refusal to accept the world as it is prescribed. As Albert Camus wrote: “The absurd is the reason for rebellion, not the excuse for resignation.” Art is my way of not giving up. Or, like Bérenger in Rhinocéros by Eugène Ionesco: my refusal to capitulate.
This act of resistance is not destructive. It creates. It opens a space where individual freedom can be reclaimed. Paradoxically, it is precisely in that individual freedom that the possibility for connection emerges. Art becomes a place where we can experience collectivity without imposed boundaries — a shared humanity without a uniform language.
In my work, lived emotion takes center stage. Everything begins there. The tension, the pain, the desire, the rawness of existence — they seek expression, not concealment. Strangely enough, it is the so-called naïve visual language that enables me to express that intensity fully. The seemingly simple forms and colours are not meant to soften, but to reveal. They make room for honesty, without shame or irony.
My work does not aim to explain, but to question. Not to reassure, but to touch. For me, art is a space where the personal and the universal meet — where vulnerability becomes strength. Each image I create is an attempt to carve out space: for doubt, for feeling — and for resistance.
