Weaving is a technique imbued with time and love, earthly and connected to human life.
Just like with my tapestries, I am very emotionally involved with my paintings. Over the years I have developed my own painting style with encaustic, appliing multiple layers of paint, giving each canvas depth and texture. A few years ago I started to create again tapestries, in the Verdures series are based on paintings. I saw new possibilities in Jacquard weaving. I found a way to keep up with the times and the new possibilities. The freedom and layeredness of my paintings, combined with the softness and woven textures of my tapestries. By embracing new techniques I am no longer tied to the loom, but finally free to paint with textile.
