Contemporary technology and the transition of technological paradigms have changed how people see, hear, and feel. Electrical signals and their electromagnetic fields cannot be easily detected but directly affect the surrounding environment. The advancement of technology, together with environmental changes, presents endless questions for our sensory system.

<Syn.apts (Synthetic Apartment) is an audiovisual performance that transforms the building of SAPY (Seoul Art Platform), a space where performances take place, into 3D using photogrammetry technology, and combines the motion of each particle with sound. Digitally transforms the concert hall where the actual performance takes place and recombines it with sound, discovers the gap between the building and the city that occurs in the process of dismantling, and through the process of creation and extinction of visual combined with sound and movement, imagining of the organic structure of the city.

Premiered at: Ansan Art center, Ansan, KR A sequence created with specific frequency values extracted from noise continuously influences the next sequence, creating a continuous chain of sequences. The sequence continuously generated through the LSTM algorithm of the neural network RNN is a process of exploring the musical possibilities generated by artificial intelligence from noise in the auditory sense, from intangible noise to the form we call music, In the process, the meaning of the expanded sound and the continuous creation process are explored. The pseudo random sequence produces 64 valid note values. The ML Algorithm (Markov chain) connected here produces a new sequence of sequence values based on the 64 note values produced by the sequence. In addition, in RNN, a sequence corresponding to the note value and length is generated based on the note values produced by the random sequence. In the stage corresponding to of the 64 note values generated by a random algorithm, 16 sequence values are generated and they are reproduced together. Each generated and reproduced note value controls the visual. In particular, the stage value corresponding to each of the 16 states controls the visual. After the sequence corresponding to 64 ~ 128 times is played, the note generator is re-triggered in the visual stage, and a new musical sequence is created and the above process is repeated.

The motion of small particles is a potential source of energy and a possibility. The motor, the circular structure that moves according to it, and the LEDs that change in real time repeatedly create different orbital motions. The motion of these small particles is connected to the motor in the structure and maintains circular motion or changes to horizontal or vertical motion. At this time, the elements of each motion and light intersect each other and make light The potential energy of these small particles is positioned as a moving reality and present existence.

From its launch in 2009 to the end of its mission in 2018, the Kepler Space Telescope has orbited the back of the Earth about 150 million kilometers from Earth's departure, discovering 2662 new planets in 9.6 years. Based on the data obtained from Kepler's observations, I tried to explore the possibility of a new planet using artificial intelligence. It converts the information value of the potential position of the new planet into sound and imagines the existence of a new planet and a multidimensional future through images composed with generative methodologies.

2022Sonic acts festival Het hem Amsterdam, Netherlands Saranghwae, comprised of planners/curators and artists utilizing contemporary technology, is an audiovisual research project that explores the boundaries between humans and non-humans, reality and virtuality (or analog and digital / organic and artificial), and the other and us in the Being as Praxis project. Saranghoe views techne - the functions and skills of skilled humans - not as a type of science and technology but as the thinking and practice of humanity, and proposes it as an innovative tool for diversity and inclusion. sonicacts.com/biennial/biennial-2022/programme/saranghwae-performance Group

2022MUTEK Montreal MUTEK Montreal Montreal Organotopia reflects a world in which nature and humans are becoming intertwined in the present time and space, a world where fixed temporality has vanished. Light and sound leave traces of time and depict a landscape of endless paradigms coexisting with multiple and simultaneous viewpoints: humans within cities and nature; immateriality, virtuality and reality; the ‘time-space’ continuum; and the interior and the exterior. oOps.50656 generates point clouds using data from the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea, as well as images of landscape and forests captured by the artists. They create soundscapes by sampling sounds recorded in nature as well as sounds produced through modular synthesizers using granular synthesis. montreal.mutek.org/en/artists/oops-50656 Group

2021pebbles to clouds Art space Boan Seoul, Republic of Korea Solo Exhibition & Audiovisual performance Second Nature, Immeasurable Rhythm There are times when we feel an indescribable pleasure from nature. That pleasure never gets old, and it is new and unfamiliar every time. Sometimes it is overwhelmingly grand and magnificent, and sometimes it surprises us with subtle changes that we cannot notice unless we look closely. If there is one clear characteristic of nature, which is difficult to gauge the beginning and the end, it is that it ‘moves.’ Just as we cannot accurately predict what can happen in the complex system of nature, the second nature he created actively intervenes in the randomness that everything that moves can create. The happenings that occur within the system are like taking a step forward into nature. Just as we cannot completely predict the movement of a rolling pebble, and we cannot guess the pitch and rhythm of the sound that is created by that movement, the sum total of all these randomnesses becomes the process of approaching unadorned nature. When the artist’s choice has the capacity to include the results that were not chosen, can’t we call this nature? Now, technology is not changing the human environment, but changing humans. What can humans, who are part of nature and at the same time want to create nature, see and hear now? The environment that the author has temporarily constructed in the current world moves without rest. This movement sometimes heightens and then subsides, repeating without order. Right here and now, a very pure desire for nature is imagining a second nature that cannot be measured. boan1942.com/?ckattempt=1 Solo

online project Art Council Korea online project, Republic of Korea pebblestoclouds.com » Pebbles to Clouds_on Web « is a project that extends from the solo exhibition » Pebbles to Clouds « presented at the Art Space Boan in 2019. It explored the concept of "particles of sounds" through system approaches based on objects in nature's motility. » Pebbles to Clouds_on Web « is an extended project of the previous solo exhibition, regarding sound as a particle and an extensive Sonic exploration with Artificial intelligence to train existing natural sounds, similar to intentionally learned noise with non-linear characteristics. It is implemented with sound changes through RAVE (Real-time variable autoEncoder). Rather than directly borrowing sounds in nature, I explore sounds composed or synthesized through artificial intelligence and question the morphological composition of sounds through reconstruction at various levels in sound synthesis and AI. In the field of AI, the status of development, audio is far retarded than visuals. There are also aspects of industry, manpower, and accessibility in the field of interest. In visuals, the calculation of planes is generally expressed in 2D and layers, yet audio considers a wide range of frequency and time together and requires calculations at multiple levels. But the most critical issue with using AI in sounds is our ears are sensitive to unusual sounds, like noise, glitches, and heterogeneous sounds. Also, it is a higher entry barrier than visuals, which are easy to access, Sounds with AI are relatively difficult to create, train, and utilize trained data sets. » Pebbles to Clouds_on Web « expands the boundaries of music/noise through noise and Artificial intelligence, and explores how the process of entanglement at various levels in the particle nature and structure of sound can be combined and created with technology. I would rather not to say, the projects solve the issuse that I mentioned earlier and also It is not just emphasize the expansion of technology or the complexity of its structure. However, through the medium of the web, It could be increases accessibility and increases, at the same time hearing an immeasurable rhythm created and synthesized by nature and exploring the the possibilities of the "Second order of nature."
