Lennart Heiner

Len Heiner is an artist and ceramicist from The Hague, The Netherlands. His work manifests in large varieties and quantities, often depicting symbol-like, humorous and naively rendered images. When juxtaposed, these bursts of drawings create tension and narrative in the spaces between. Somewhat like a playlist on shuffle, where the sequence of songs create interesting shifts in meaning and experience. Many influences enter Len’s visual language, making his body of work a research into medium and handwriting. Besides drawing Len is an apprentice potter. The practice and discipline needed to master the medium of ceramics forms a counterpart to the freedom and looseness he allows into his drawing practice.
