Work in progress video
Annemarie Slobbe explores the forces of nature that set everything in motion and to which we as humans are bound. Her paintings, scratchboards and films depict the passage of time. Compositions evolve gradually, as she aims to accept change instead of controlling it. Hypnotic patterns emerge along the edges of the canvas. Going inward, the temporary appearance of form is destroyed. Here only our awareness of the void remains; a formless silence, sleeping in the darkness.
