The last couple of years I mainly work on paper, a material that can be used for quick drawings but also for a slow, more considered piece of work. The latter is the way I like to work. In a world constantly producing images and words, I try to make art that puts these constant flow of information into context. I am looking for patterns and structure in appearances that stand for more than just a personal way of expression. The charcoal drawings are made with an eye for detail and contrast. The other pieces are build in layers, not all the information is given, to give the beholder a chance to make its own interpretation of what is seen. A lot of different materials are used for these images, like embroidery silk, rose petals and colour pencil. Recollection and recognition are keywords for all my drawings".
