Hafid Bouazza: 'Aline Thomassen’s work is full of brutal tenderness'
Rembrandt House Museum, by Nathalie Maciesza, curator : "Aline Thomassen gets under the skin of the women in her paintings. She searches for the basis of being human: existential experiences and feelings. With watercolor and pure pigments she emphasizes the inner self, that what reveals itself when you look beyond outer beauty. The visible organs, thoughts, wounds and scars reflect experiences such as love, loss, pain and death.
